Mental Objects ( Installation & Photography)
In the Installation and photograph titled "Mental Objects," a diverse array of objects crafted from various materials and textures are all uniformly painted black and set against a black background. This monochromatic presentation creates an almost surreal and abstract visual effect, where the individual objects blend into the void, becoming nearly indistinguishable. The black-on-black aesthetic serves as a powerful metaphor for the nature of thoughts: while they may appear substantial and true, they ultimately dissolve into non-existence from an awakened perspective. The photograph invites viewers to contemplate the ephemeral and insubstantial nature of mental constructs. Each object, despite its unique material and texture, is rendered inconspicuous by the unifying black paint, symbolising how thoughts, regardless of their content, lose their grip when viewed through the lens of mindfulness and higher awareness. "Mental Objects" challenges us to question the solidity and permanence we often attribute to our thoughts, suggesting that they are fleeting and illusory, destined to fade into nothingness when met with clarity. This artwork serves as a reminder of the transient nature of our mental landscapes, encouraging a deeper understanding of the impermanence of our inner experiences.
